Megabus

I left Megabus out of my earlier discussion of buses. Many of you have no doubt seen their ads, some even claiming $1 rates (plus a 50 cent surcharge) between Boston and New York. That seems to be contingent on booking in advance as I just paid $16 for a one way trip between New York and Boston this Sunday night.

I was hoping to utilize Megabus for the Boston-NYC piece on Friday, but they only had 3:30 and 8:30 p.m. departures available -- 3:30 being before work let out, and 8:30 being a bit too late for my taste. So I booked a 5:30 departure (arriving in NYC at 9:50 p.m. -- not unreasonably late) via Greyhound for $27.

Word has it that Megabus offers free wireless access, but lord knows if it will actually work.
