Fantasy Football: Life After Brady

Well, we're only two games into the Matt Cassel era, and I'm panicking about Randy Moss. 4 receptions today for 25 yards ... we went from having two sure things in a 3 WR league (Owens, Moss, Bryant Johnson, David Patten) to having exactly one (Owens). Our team is now desperate for receivers.

On the bright side, the Tennessee D was a great play today -- 19 points (held Texans to 12, had 3 picks, 3 sacks, and a touchdown). And Matt Forte continues to be a good back -- 89 rushing yards, 60+ receiving yards, a touchdown (15 fantasy points).

It's only halftime, but Drew Brees already has 243 passing yards (only 8 fantasy points in our league) against the Broncos. Unfortunately, he hasn't thrown a TD yet. Reggie Bush continues to be a great multipurpose back, with 44 rushing yards and 57 receiving yards at the half. He also has a TD (and a lost fumble, unfortunately). He's heading for 15 fantasy points today -- at a minimum.

Scheffler hasn't done anything at TE for us -- he may be a one week wonder. Bryant Johnson had one catch for 25 yds in the first half ... not looking too promising at WR3, although our alternative (Patten) hasn't done anything either.

We still have Terrell Owens going tonight (WR1), and Nick Folk (K). It looks like Brees & Bush should combine for 30 points today, Tennessee & Forte combined for 34 ... so it's safe to say we're going over 70 points, probably over 80.

Our opponent started Schaub at quarterback (3 interceptions -- close to no value today), Chris Johnson had 4 fantasy points, Welker had 3 points, Owen Daniels had 4, Santonio Holmes did little in the first half against Philly, and Calvin Johnson hasn't done much of anything so far. Selvin Young is his other back and he doesn't score TDs for Denver -- Pittman does. So it's safe to say we're going to win (they lost Brady, so I'm sympathetic).

Note: When Brady owners say, "Try winning after losing your first round draft pick," I can actually relate to their situation. I lost my first round pick too: his name was Randy Moss. His name was Randy Moss. His name was Randy Moss!!!!!!
