July 31 & August 1: Black Bears @ Cades Cove
This is a yearling -- many mistakenly thought it was a baby with an unseen mother lurking nearby. Too many people gathered around, eventually spooking the bear and sending him packing ...
As you can see, these bears are very fast. I later watched this bear climb a tree, ascending 15-20 feet in a matter of seconds.
A larger bear rocks a tree branch back and forth.
